Nectar company, the leader in fruit processing and juices production in both Serbia and region, founded “It does matter” foundation. The main focus of the foundation will be on the projects which aim to increase birthrate in Serbia, returning children to nature, education and empowering the young from agrarian business area. The first concrete project of the foundation, in the cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, will be establishment of the extracorporeal fertilization clinic in the Community Health Centers and opening extracorporeal fertilization center as well as establishing the free national telephone number through which the citizens will be able to get all the necessary information and psychological support in this process.
Ana Radun, Deputy General Manager of Nectar company and representative of Radun family who is the 100% company founder since its foundation, referred to gathering as foundation Manager and presented the first project.
“We, as the family company which exists for two decades, are faithful to It does matter business philosophy and are led by key words such as healthy, quality, domestic. Socially responsible management has always been our additional activity and now, by establishing “It does matter” foundation we want to leave the trace strategically and continuously in the areas in which we can contribute the most with our effort, assets, knowledge and experience, stated Ana Radun at the opening of It does matter foundation.
Every sixth couple in Serbia has a problem to naturally start a family. With “It does matter when the babies come” activity, together with the Ministry of Health, Nectar company reconstructed the extracorporeal fertilization department at the GAK Narodni front clinic and met the conditions to multiply the number of couples who will get the chance to go through this process in their own country. Foundation, together with the Ministry, keeps on working in this area by opening counseling centers for couples at Community Health Centers but also by creating free national telephone number for everyone who needs advice or psychological help. There is also a guide for extracorporeal fertilization which will be distributed to all health centers. In the near future, a vehicle with the qualified persons will be provided in order to reach all those whom this information or expertise is not so easily accessible. The foundation banded all the factors together within this project – Ministry of Health, Association “Chance for parenting”, Center for mental health of Belgrade.
“The matter of extracorporeal fertilization is of strategic importance for us. During last year, more than 3740 women went through IVF procedure. Through several projects we tried to increase the number of couples who would be able to go through this process. We raised the age boundary for entering the procedure from 38 to 42 years, and together with Nectar, we reconstructed the IVF department at Gak Narodni Front. The process itself is not simple, that is why it is important for couples to be aware they should address as soon as possible, to which opening of the counseling center will contribute to that is the project we present today” – stated Ferenc Vicko, Secretary of State at Ministry of Health and pointed out that Ministry of Health will continue to put its focus on the subjects that are vital for increasing birthrate in Serbia and healing infertility.
Other two areas were presented at the event in which Foundation will develop a whole range of projects and programs aimed at returning to nature. This way children will be enabled to spend more and more time in nature. Another focus will be put on education in the area of agrarian business in order to share knowledge through internships and scholarships from this area.
